The three rules
- Roleplay servers protect through the toggle. Joining a Roleplay server sets the tone, but only the toggle switch beside the clock actively turns off combat interactions.
- The toggle stops attacks, grabs, and Time Stop. The 18 October patch names those three actions specifically; it does not promise protection against world events or non-player mechanics.
- Gangs are social, clubs are mechanical. Gangs provide group identity and roleplay hierarchy; clubs grant a single fixed 5% bonus. A gang never replaces your club slot.
Trap: assuming the toggle protects Arrow claims
The most dangerous assumption in a Roleplay server is picking up a spawned Stand Arrow expecting complete immunity. The patch notes specifically state that the toggle prevents player-versus-player attacks, grabs, and Time Stop. World contest rules and carrier visibility are not listed under toggle protection; holding an Arrow makes you an objective regardless of your server tab.
Stage 1: get into a Roleplay server
Open the in-game Servers board from the main menu and select the ROLEPLAY tab added in the 18 October patch. The tab has no level barrier or entry fee.
The video above features a player summoning King Crimson with glowing purple effects, but from 8:09 onwards it demonstrates regular campus pacing: finishing a class pays +1 Popularity and 100 Yen, while classroom misbehavior sends the character straight to detention at 8:48. Roleplay servers prioritize this school flow over hallway brawls.
Success signal: you load into a campus where players congregate in classrooms, hallways, and dorms without active Stand barrages filling the screen.

From 8:09 the video shows +1 Popularity and 100 Yen after a class, and detention at 8:48. Earlier scenes run inside an admin environment, so read them as a demonstration, not as normal play. Watch on YouTube
Stage 2: turn PvP off
Locate the PvP toggle sitting next to the clock on your screen. Clicking it disables hostile engagements.
What the toggle covers:
- Attacking: opponents cannot strike you with basic punches or Stand moves.
- Grabbing: other players cannot grapple or displace your character.
- Time Stop: opponents activating Time Stop cannot freeze or harm you.
Separately, the 18 October patch made it impossible to attack any player currently participating in a Track Race, providing built-in race immunity outside of the toggle.
Gangs, factions, and the recruitment board
Gangs are player-formed factions. Student groups coordinate in their own servers and Discords, and this page does not claim uniform or emblem conventions the game has not published.
The developers maintain an official gang-advertisement channel for roster recruitment, with active moderation punishing inappropriate gang names. However, creation costs, member caps, and whether gangs will ever grant mechanical perks remain completely unpublished. Do not buy into third-party claims of gang stat buffs.
Gangs are not clubs
Confusing gangs with clubs costs you a build perk:
- Clubs are official school institutions. Each of the eight clubs grants a fixed 5% modifier (speed, health, dash efficiency, or Yen).
- Gangs are social rosters without verified stat bonuses.
What to do if you still take damage
If you take a hit while the toggle reads disabled, check the source:
- Verify whether the damage came from an NPC or a competitive objective rather than a player basic attack.
- Note whether you had just entered an event area or picked up an Arrow.
- If a player attack penetrated the toggle, take a screenshot showing both the damage and the disabled toggle icon next to the clock before reporting the server session.
After setting up your roleplay profile
- Lock in your character's mechanical bonus: choose a school faction from the clubs breakdown.
- Return to campus navigation: explore the school overview.
- New to class routines: review your first sessions guide to balance grades with Stand awakening.
